Join Our Board

We are actively seeking board members dedicated Revive the Roots' mission, values and work, and want help guide the next years of growth and development. What does it mean to be a Revive the Roots Board member?
Board members play a critical role in managing the governance and ensuring the success of the organization. Serving as ambassadors, advocates, and stewards of the organization's mission, they contribute their time, expertise, and resources to ensure effective leadership, strategic planning, and financial sustainability. We ask that board members committee a two year term, at the end of the term there is the opportunity to serve additional terms. ​
Our organization is dedicated to fostering diversity within our board, recognizing that diverse perspectives contribute to more robust decision-making processes. We actively seek individuals from varied backgrounds ensuring a rich tapestry of experiences and viewpoints. 
Roles and Responsibilities
● Act as an ambassador for the organization. 
● Attend monthly meetings. 
● Encouraged but not required to act as an active member on one (1) committee.
  • Committees include: Fundraising, Land Stewardship, Programs, Mary Mowry House and Rootstock.
● Attend the annual Board Retreat, which is held in November each year.

Application Process
To help evaluate candidates, the Board of Directors has established a nominations process to identify candidates who demonstrate appropriate skills and degrees of commitment to best suit the organization. The Board’s policy is to nominate candidates who sufficiently meet the requirements, priorities, and needs of the Board of Directors. Candidates seeking nomination must complete the application process.
1. Complete the Board of Directors Interest Form
2. Complete an interview with the Board Chair and Secretary.
3. Coffee meeting and tour with the Executive Director.
4. If determined to be a good match, compose a letter to the Board outlining 
your aspirations as a Board member. 
5. Join an upcoming Board meeting for introductions. The 
Board will vote on your appointment at this session.
