Rootstock is back back back for our 3rd year! We could not be more thrilled to welcome you to a once a year event with all of us at Revive the Roots. This year we have more music, more art and more good times to share with you!
Choose yours own adventure...
  • Bring a chair and blanket and let the music wash over you all day
  • Wander and explore… look at the bugs… look at the plants… look at the animals… take a tour
  • Snack and fill up on fresh and local food, an amazing selection of savory patties and rice bowls prepared by JA Patty available for purchase and farm tasting bites by Frog Bell Foods. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options will be on the menu.
  • Meet our community partners, the amazing folks building community and taking environmental action in Rhode Island
  • Make things! Crafts and communal mural for kids and adult alike
  • Shop one of a kind arts and crafts
  • Or all of the above!
Festivities kick off at 12pm with bands starting at 12:15. Rootstock happens rain or shine and will only be canceled for severe weather conditions. The Bands

Line Up on the Main Stage

The Whelks        12:15 - 12:45
The Whelks are an acoustic trio hailing from Warren and Tiverton, RI consisting of Peri DeLorenzo on fiddle, Mark Dobbyn on guitar, and Erin Lobb Mason on upright bass. They play a mix of swing, country, old time, bluegrass, Irish, folk, and their own original songs, all dressed up in glorious three part harmony.

Sun Urchins        1 - 1:30
Sun Urchins is a three-piece indie grunge band that will rock your darned socks off!

Big Brute        1:45 - 2:15
A sonically beautiful sense of home.

Lady Pills        2:30 - 3
Lady Pills is the project of Providence-based Ella Boissonnault. The music combines elements of 90's indie and grunge with a more modern pop twist to create a driving and honest sound. Her most recent record, What I Want, was released February of 2022 via Plastic Miracles. The record was featured in The Boston Globe, WBUR, MTV, and New Noise Magazine and earned nominations for 2 Boston Music Awards: Album of the Year and Alternative/Indie Artist of the Year. Her solo performance provides a more raw and intimate opportunity to connect with the music.

Convinced Friend    3:15 - 3:45
Convinced Friend is the project of Providence-based Songwriter A.S. Wilson. Recorded at Big Nice Studios, the self-titled album (Released November '22 with Relief Map Records) embraced members of Burr and Nova One, resulting in a collection of largehearted songs that Various Small Flames has called "an intimate and attentive sound in the lineage of Jason Molina and David Bazan... pushing beyond the melancholic surface so common to indie rock, looking instead to explore the deep possibilities beneath."

Hopper        4 - 4:30
Hopper is a fine blend of pop rocks, moon rocks, hopscotch, butterscotch, the familiar, the unprepared, happenstance, inflation, woe, stardust, teh internets, robots, porcupine riffs, the mysterious past, the unbelievable future, backyard archeology , armchair philosophy, compromise, conviction, and neato economics!!

Number One Babe    4:45 - 5:15
Number One Babe is the recording and performance project helmed by multi-instrumentalist and songwriter, Zachary Alexander Cholewa. Hailing from Providence, Rhode Island, this indie gem brings their debut record, 'Ecstatic Function,' to life with enduring melodies and introspective yet refreshingly simple compositions. Collaborating with the likes of Tom Bora (guitar), Emma Rome (bass), and Caleb Marsh (drums), Number One Babe weaves their indie magic, infusing folk, rock, and psychedelia into an irresistible musical tapestry.

Meridian        5:30 - 6
Garden Variety Indie Rock! Seven humans. Honest songwriting. Fun grooves. Authentic and emotionally spellbinding, Meridian is a group of friends in Providence, RI and the winners of Motif Magazine's 2023 Battle of the Bands.
