Purpose of the Volunteer Agreement
This agreement outlines the code of conduct, policies and expectations for volunteers at Revive the Roots. We ask all volunteers to read and sign the document to ensure mutual understanding and a safe, pleasant and enriching experience at volunteering for Revive the Roots.
Definition of a Volunteer
A volunteer is someone who at the request of Revive the Roots donates their time and talent without financial compensation. As a volunteer we value and respect the work that is done and expect you to uphold the commitments outlined in this policy.
Volunteers under 18
We welcome volunteers of all ages! Volunteers under the age of 18 must have the consent of a parent or legal guardian before participating in any voluntary work.
Personal Conduct
While at Revive the Roots visitors & volunteers must conduct themselves in accordance with the values and mission of Revive the Roots. Volunteers must treat other volunteers, visitors, staff, the property and the surrounding environment with respect. Visitors & volunteers should always conduct themselves in a manner that protects their own safety and the safety of others. Verbal, physical, visual abuse or any type of bullying or discrimination will not be tolerated.

Health and Safety
- You must advise a supervisor before commencing work if you have any health issues that may affect your ability to complete certain tasks, work unsupervised or affect your work in any way.
- Volunteers must wear appropriate clothing (boots, gloves, sun-hats, sun-screen)and use appropriate equipment for the work undertaken. Do not use any tool or equipment without training for a Revive the Roots representative.
- All Volunteers must follow directions of their supervisor and request help if they do not understand the directions fully or are unsure of their ability to complete the task.
By signing below, I agree to adhere to all volunteer policies and procedures outlined in this document. I realize that in performing tasks at Mowry Commons for Revive the Roots, there exists a risk of injury. On behalf of myself, my heirs, personal representatives and executors, I hereby release, discharge, indemnify and hold harmless Revive the Roots, its agents, and employees from any and all claims, cause of action, or demands, of any nature or cause, including costs and attorneys’ fees incurred by Revive the Roots in connection with the same, based on damages or injuries which may be incurred, or sustained by me in any way connected with my services for Revive the Roots.
